Building the calm way to ship

We think the best product teams are not the loudest ones. They are the ones whose tools tell them the truth.

Why Keel exists

We started Keel in 2021 after a decade of shipping software the loud way: a tracker that drifted from reality, deploy scripts nobody trusted, dashboards nobody opened, and a Monday meeting to apologize for all three. The tools were fine on their own. The gaps between them were where the chaos lived.

So we built the connected version: one workspace where plans stay wired to real work, releases carry their own health, and the answer to what changed is always on screen. Thousands of teams later, the thesis has held. Calm is not the absence of speed. It is what speed feels like when nothing is hidden.

Teammates

A small team by design, spread across nine time zones, shipping to thousands of workspaces every week.

Three rules we keep

01

Calm is a feature

We ship it in the product and we protect it in the company. No heroics, no fire drills that a better system would have prevented.

02

Honesty over theater

Real numbers, real status, real tradeoffs. If the truth is uncomfortable, the answer is to fix the thing, not the slide.

03

Small team, sharp tools

We would rather stay small and automate the busywork than grow into the coordination problems we set out to solve.
